My current take on Valentines' Day is that I could take it or leave it. Maybe more than anything I'm annoyed at how marketed/commoditized it's all become.

On the plus side, my younger kid's school frowns on giving V-day cards to classmates, so at least he's not filling out 30 cards for people he barely speaks to.

i feel that sentiment on its commodification - hate to see it becoming another cash cow.

30 cards really would be too much perhaps!

Love this issue, and love to hear that it was easy for you to write!! The Valentine's memes made me smile and I like how you replicated the Comic Sans on your own 😎 This holiday, I'm basking in three kinds of love – romance, familial love, and friendships (Galentine's Day!) – and I'm feeling sappy/goofy enough to embrace cheesiness as part and parcel of all three.

Sending lots of love your way too!! 💖

The Valentine's Card Memes are one of my earliest memories of "things I only saw on the Internet" lol. They actually make me laugh, especially niche ones. Since 2016, Valentine's Day has become one of the most important days because it's me and my S/O's anniversary! Yes I did that on purpose and I don't regret it lol. We're long distance now but the plan is to watch the Harley Quinn Valentine's Day Special and of course we sent each other gifts:)

It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to keep an open heart and appreciate chivalry even after past hurts :) I think that’s the ultimate form of love: love for all things and states of being - for others and ourselves. Happy early Valentine’s Day!

"i have an acceptance of my inherent, ever-present desire for romantic love; yet also the knowing that can still choose to live a fulfilling life with or without, and the faith that it will show up again at the best possible moment" Such a powerful reminder for us FRESHers, thanks Wing :) We can simultaneously honour and validate the inner desire for romantic love/ fulfilling relationships AND acknowledge that love and beauty and personal fulfilment are available for us to claim and enjoy now <3 <3 <3 There are so many different expressions and types of love everywhere all the time and I'm definitely taking Valentines Day as a special day to celebrate love and appreciate the people/ things/ spaces around me :))))
